2011  Congressional Reception

Our recent annual DC lobbying trip (April 12-14) was exceptional, and all NYSALC Officers and Executive Board members, along with all NYSALC Branches, are to be commended for their help in ensuring our success. We entertained our junior Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, 6 Representatives, and 2 Congressional Aides at a Cocktail Reception at the Hyatt-Regency Capitol Hill, and all delivered resounding support for us..The event was pre-empted with our traditional Rap Session, where President Rolando gave us an up-to-date briefing on NALC’s recent MOUs,  and fielded questions.. The entire event was well attended (120 members, President Rolando, the NALC Executive Board , and our Legislative Department) and totally enjoyed by everyone.. Senator Schumer fully supported 6 Day Delivery, and our stance on the prefunding and overpayment issues at our group meetings held at his office, earlier in the day…
