2010  Congressional Reception

Our recent annual DC lobbying trip (April 13-14) was exceptional, and all NYSALC Officers and Executive Board members, along with all NYSALC Branches, are to be commended for their help in ensuring our success. We entertained 7 Representatives,  and 4 Congressional Aides at a Cocktail Reception, at the Hyatt-Regency Capitol Hill, and all delivered resounding support for us..The event was pre-empted with our traditional Rap Session, where President Rolando gave us an up-to-date briefing on NALC’s plans to combat the Postal Services’ ill conceived attack on 6 day delivery, and fielded questions.. The entire event was well attended (120 members, President Rolando, the NALC Executive Board , and our Legislative Department) and totally enjoyed by everyone..Both Senators fully supported 6 Day Delivery, and our stance on the prefunding and overpayment issues at our group meetings held at their offices, earlier in the day…
