Our recent Congressional Breakfast, held on May 24, was again
well executed, although only 4 Representatives (John Hall CD 19, Carolyn McCarthy
CD 4, Tim Bishop CD 1, and Michael Arcuri CD 24) and 4 Congressional Aides
were able to attend; I personally attribute the change of dates (originally
planned for April) for the low turnout, as it was close to recess for the
Memorial Day weekend, and many committee ends had to be finalized. My personal
thanks go to Vice President Art Muoio, Director of Retirees Norm LeFrois, and
all State Officers and Executive Board Members, for their tireless efforts
that make our annual lobbying trip to Washington a success…
The New York Delegation of CDLs , Branch Officers, and activists were treated
to a special event at our Rap Session on Wednesday evening, as President Emeritus
Vincent R Sombrotto was honored with the plaster cast of his bust, which will
be bronzed, and displayed at the Vincent R. Sombrotto headquarters building
in D.C.. it was a Special Event for a Very Special Man…The Rap Session also
produced COLCPE Contributions of nearly $39,000.00, again showing why New York
State is #1…
